NASHVILLE, Tenn., (May 23, 2016) – Urgent Team is pleased to announce the acquisition of Physicians Care, an urgent and family care company with eight East Tennessee locations.
Physicians Care was co-founded in 1990 by Chattanooga native Bill Meadows, M.D. Dr. Meadows has a background in emergency medicine and more than 25 years’ experience in urgent care, making him one of the most tenured providers in the industry. He is also founding President and former board member of the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA).
Dr. Meadows will continue practicing medicine, as well as serve as Chief Medical Officer for Physicians Care. “Having built, over the last couple of decades, an important healthcare service for many East Tennessee families and employers, I recognized there was still much more I wanted to do with the business,” Dr. Meadows said. “As such, I decided to partner with Urgent Team, which has more financial and operational systems, as well as people resources to fulfill my vision of further expanding our business. Urgent Team’s philosophy, people and reputation for quality and integrity made my decision easy.”
